George Andrew Davis Jr. United States Army Air Forces World War II United States Air Force Korea (KIA) Major Davis was leading a flight of 4 F-86 Saber jets on a combat aerial patrol mission near the Manchurian border, Korea, during an engagement with 12 enemy MIG-15s his aircraft sustained a direct hit, lost control & crashed into a mountain. Lester Lawrence Howell 8th Air Force Fighter Command WWII (KIA) "Lt. Les Howell, 352nd FG,486th FS, was killed on the Shuttle Mission to Budapest from Italy on 2 July 1944, while flying a P-51 Mustang fighter plane. He unwittingly attacked a superior force of Me 109s all by himself. His last words were: "I've got some corralled, come on down and get 'em."
